Bespoke Wardrobe Installation Derbyshire

At Boam Joinery, we recently had the pleasure of designing and installing a bespoke wardrobe for a client in Ripley, Derbyshire. This project was part of a new build by Ashberry Homes, where our task was to craft and fit a beautiful Shaker style wardrobe into a unique alcove space. Here’s how we brought this elegant and functional storage solution to life. Design & Customisation The project began with a detailed consultation with the homeowner to understand their specific needs and aesthetic preferences. The client expressed a desire for a classic Shaker style wardrobe that would blend seamlessly with the contemporary design of their new build. We proposed a design that featured clean, simple lines characteristic of the Shaker style, with spacious shelving to maximise the use of the space. The wardrobe was to be finished in Slipper Satin, a soft, off-white shade that would complement the room's existing décor while adding a touch of sophistication. The colour choice was crucial in maintaining a light and airy feel in the space, making the room appear larger and more inviting. Manufacturing The Bespoke Wardrobe Once the design was approved, our skilled team at Boam Joinery got to work on crafting the wardrobe. We meticulously selected high-quality materials to achieve durability and a flawless finish. Each component was carefully cut and assembled, with particular attention paid to the fine details that define the Shaker style—such as the recessed panels and the crisp, straight lines. Our workshop is equipped with advanced tools and machinery that allowed us to precisely manufacture each part of the wardrobe. This level of precision is essential in achieving the bespoke quality that our clients expect. Throughout the process, we maintained close communication with the client, providing updates and making sure the final product would meet their expectations. Wardrobe Installation After the wardrobe was constructed, we transported it to the new build in Ripley for installation. The alcove space presented a unique challenge due to its dimensions, but our experienced joiners were well-prepared. We carefully fitted the wardrobe into the alcove, making sure it was securely anchored and perfectly aligned with the surrounding walls. To complete the look, we applied a spray finish in Slipper Satin. This finishing process is crucial not only for enhancing the appearance of the wardrobe but also for protecting the wood and providing long-lasting durability. The spray finish provided a smooth, even coat that highlighted the natural beauty of the wood grain while giving the wardrobe a sleek, contemporary look. Transforming The Space The finished Shaker style wardrobe exceeded the client's expectations. It transformed the alcove from an underutilised space into a practical and stylish storage solution that blends seamlessly with the rest of the room. The spacious shelves provide ample storage for clothing and accessories, while the soft Slipper Satin finish adds a touch of elegance to the bedroom.
