At Boam Joinery, we recently completed the supply and installation of 16 hardwood flush casement windows and a front door in a Grade II listed property in Geddington, Northamptonshire. This project required a balance of traditional craftsmanship and modern precision to meet conservation requirements whilst improving the property’s functionality and appearance.
For this project, we supplied and installed 16 hardwood flush casement windows. These were crafted from high-quality hardwood, providing durability and a classic look suitable for a historic property. Each window was designed to replicate the original style whilst offering improved insulation and security.
The windows were pre-finished in @remmers_uk paint, offering a long-lasting and weather-resistant finish. By using this specialist paint, we made sure the windows not only looked great but were also protected from the elements for years to come.
Working on a Grade II listed building requires attention to detail and adherence to building regulations. We worked closely with the property owner to match the original window design whilst using modern joinery techniques to improve energy efficiency. The new windows retained the authentic flush casement style, making sure they blended seamlessly with the historic architecture.
In addition to the windows, we installed a bespoke hardwood front door, designed to complement the property’s traditional appearance. Like the windows, the door was pre-finished in @remmers_uk paint to guarantee durability and visual appeal. The front door not only improved security but also maintained the style of the home.
Every window and door was carefully measured and crafted to make sure they fit perfectly. Our team installed each unit with precision, avoiding any damage to the original brickwork and features of the listed property. The result was a stunning upgrade that retained the building’s original charm whilst offering modern functionality.
By upgrading to new hardwood flush casement windows and a solid hardwood front door, the homeowner benefited from improved insulation and security. The new units provided better thermal performance, reducing heat loss and helping with energy costs. Additionally, the secure locking mechanisms added an extra layer of protection to the home.
The homeowner was extremely pleased with the final result. The new windows and door preserved the property’s heritage and provided a high level of performance and durability. This project showcased our expertise in traditional joinery, combining craftsmanship with modern solutions to meet both aesthetic and functional needs.
At Boam Joinery, we take pride in delivering high-grade joinery solutions tailored to each property’s unique requirements. Whether working on a listed building or a modern home, we guarantee outstanding results every time.
