Supplying Timber Windows For A Period Home

We recently completed a project supplying hardwood sash style windows and a bespoke front door for a traditional property in Kegworth. The homeowner contacted us looking to update their windows and door, but they wanted to maintain the character and charm of the building. We worked closely with them to match the new joinery to the original style of the property.

The installation involved six windows in total - three large bay windows on the ground floor and three sash-style windows on the upper level. Each window was designed to replicate the appearance of traditional sliding sashes whilst offering the convenience and practicality of modern openings. The choice of a sash window design allowed us to maintain the classic look while providing easier operation and better energy performance.

Expert Craftsmanship

We used high-quality hardwood for all six windows and the new front door. This material provides a solid, long-lasting solution, and it’s ideal for properties where appearance and durability are equally important. Each window was built to measure, resulting in a snug, accurate fit that not only looks right for the age of the building but also helps with insulation and noise reduction.

The bay windows on the ground floor were a key feature of the home’s façade. We paid particular attention to the shaping and detailing so that the new frames would fit seamlessly within the brickwork. Upstairs, the three sash-style units were fitted with the same level of precision. The window frames were finished in a lighter grey / green colour giving them a clean, timeless look.

A Front Door To Match The Windows

In addition to the windows, we supplied a custom hardwood front door. This was built to the same traditional standard as the windows. The door was fitted with a period-style knocker and handle, completing the look while giving the homeowner a strong and secure entrance to their property.

Classic Style With Modern Efficiency

Although the windows and door have a traditional appearance, they offer excellent performance. We fitted each unit with secondary glazing, achieving thermal efficiency whilst helping to reduce outside noise.

The sash window design gives the look of a classic sliding sash, but with a modern opening system that’s easy to use and maintain.
